A benchmark for agentic cloud diagnosis

Cloud-OpsBenchReal incidents.
Reproducible diagnosis.

A reproducible benchmark for agentic root cause analysis in cloud systems. Investigate preserved incident snapshots, follow diagnostic evidence, and evaluate both the answer and the path to it.

01 / THE IDEA

The same incident. Every time.

Diagnose complex cloud failures without rebuilding the cloud.

Live systems change as an agent investigates. Cloud-OpsBench preserves the fault scene as a state snapshot, so different agents can query the same recorded evidence under a reproducible diagnostic interface.

Cloud-OpsBench overview: incident construction, state snapshots, interactive diagnostic tools, and outcome and process evaluation.
The state snapshot paradigm: from reproducible fault scenes to evidence-grounded agent evaluation.
01

Replay the environment

Resource states, telemetry, code, and cached tool outputs preserve the diagnostic evidence. No cluster deployment is needed to run the released cases.

02

Investigate, not classify

Agents choose tools, collect observations, and reason across multiple steps to identify both the faulty component and the fault type.

03

Evaluate the reasoning path

Milestone annotations check evidence coverage, admissible ordering, and completeness alongside final RCA correctness and tool-use efficiency.

All values are reported as provided in the benchmark results. Higher is better (โ†‘), except Steps and RAR (โ†“). Scores are proportions; Steps is the mean number of diagnostic tool invocations.

What do the metrics measure?
CA ยท Component Accuracy
Correct localization of the faulty component.
FA ยท Fault-Type Accuracy
Correct identification of the fault type.
JRA ยท Joint RCA Accuracy
Both component and fault type are correct.
MC ยท Milestone Coverage
Fraction of diagnostic milestone groups completed.
EOC ยท Evidence-Order Consistency
Required milestones established in admissible causal order.
ECR ยท Evidence Closure Rate
All required milestone groups completed.
EE ยท Evidence Efficiency
Tool calls contributing admissible, dependency-grounded evidence.
Steps ยท Diagnostic Tool Invocations
Mean number of tool invocations per case.
RAR ยท Redundant Action Rate
Repeated calls that add no evidence or milestone progress.

04 / GET STARTED

Bring your agent. Keep the evidence fixed.

Download the snapshots. Choose your diagnostic interface.

01 โ€” DOWNLOAD THE DATASET
from huggingface_hub import snapshot_download

snapshot_download(
    repo_id="LLM4Ops/Cloud-OpsBench",
    repo_type="dataset",
